The Catholic Defender: Deepertruth continues to be a voice of reason to a rebellious world

Deepertruth invites other Catholic entities to join us in following our Catholic tradition, that we are "born for combat" or being "ready for battle" that is a call to spiritual warfare rather than a literal call to physical violence.

This concept refers to the Church Militant, a term for the faithful on Earth who are actively engaged in a struggle against sin, temptation, and evil.

Key instruments include the Rosary (often called the "Combat Rosary"), frequent use of the Sacraments (especially Eucharist and Reconciliation), and reading Scripture.

Being "ready for combat" involves a refusal to retreat before falsehood or stay silent in the face of injustice. It is a call to follow Christ even when it means holding unpopular ideas or facing personal costs.

St. Ignatius of Loyola and other saints emphasize that the primary battlefield is within oneself, waging war against one's own "predominant passion" to achieve spiritual victory.

The Rosary is widely regarded as a versatile spiritual tool, functioning as a method for deep meditation, a source of psychological peace, and a "spiritual weapon" for protection and discipline. While it is a hallmark of Catholic devotion, many from other traditions also find it useful for centering their spiritual lives.

Many saints and popes, most notably St. Padre Pio, have referred to the Rosary as "the weapon" for modern times. It is used to combat temptation, overcome sin, and protect against spiritual darkness.

To be a follower of Christ as a true Catholic involves both a personal relationship with Jesus and active participation in the life of the Church. According to Catholic teaching, these two elements are not separate but are intimately linked.

Personal Relationship with Jesus: True discipleship begins with an encounter and a personal "yes" to Christ. This is maintained through daily prayer, reading Sacred Scripture, and striving for intimate union with God.

The Sacramental Life: A faithful Catholic lives out their discipleship through the sacraments, especially regular participation in the Holy Mass and frequent Confession.

Being "truly Catholic" includes submitting one’s intellect and will to the Magisterium—the teaching authority of the Pope and bishops in union with him.

Jesus taught that to be His follower, one must "carry the cross," which involves self-denial and embracing suffering as a means to draw closer to God.

A true follower is known by their "fruit"—virtues such as humility, compassion, and performing acts of mercy for others.

the Church Militant faces a "grand alliance" of the world, the flesh, and the devil, requiring spiritual armor rather than physical force.

Believers are called to combat these influences using "weapons" of prayer, scripture, sacraments, and acts of charity.

As of early 2026, reports indicate that over 500 Catholic churches in the United States have experienced some form of attack (arson, vandalism, or destruction of statues) since 2020.

Many religious leaders use the term to describe a non-physical battle. For instance, Pope Leo XIV recently urged the "Church Militant" to "disarm" their words and engage in spiritual warfare through peace and prayer rather than hostility.

There is a perception that Christians are uniquely targeted for mockery in the public square, often described as a 730% increase in attacks on churches in the US since 2018.
