The Catholic Defender: What it means to disrespect the American Flag
Last night I kind of got caught up in the frenzy over the current disrespecting of the American Flag writing my article, "Many in the NFL are waging war on the American Flag". Now celebrities and even children are now getting into the act. I don't think most of them know what all this is really about? On June 14, 1923, or Flag Day, a federal code was put in place that would serve as a guideline for how to handle the American flag. This lead to Title 18: UNITED STATES CODE

The Catholic Defender: Saint Philip Neri’s Story
Deepertruth with special permission and aid with Franiciscan Media, a great team for the Lord Throughout the history of the Catholic Church, The Lord has always raised great faithful saints despite the background of each time. Living today, people can identify with corruption among clergy. Matthew 13: 24-30 Jesus gives this parable: He proposed another parable to them. “The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep

The Catholic Defender: My Day honoring our Soldiers on Memorial Day
My day first began watching the Fox News Channel as they were getting ready for a speech coming from President Donald Trump at Arlington Cemetery and this was one great speech. I went out to our front yard and took a picture of statues I have by our flag posted there. I had previously talked with my wife who told me of one of her uncles who had been wounded in battle during WW II as did one of my uncles (Joe) who was bayoneted by a Japanese running upon him during a hand to

This past Thursday was Ascension Thursday, which will be celebrated at Divine Mercy here in Gardner Kansas on Sunday, so I will write about it today on Thursday. About three years previously, Jesus began his public Ministry with being baptized by St. John the Baptist. “The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the pr
