The Catholic Defender: The 15 Promises Our Lady gave for the Rosary. The Eighth Promise

8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise. This particular promise reveals a special incite about the Lord's presence in our lives. By praying the Rosary, we invite the Lord and His Mother into our lives in a powerful way. John 8:12 states, "Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” When we accept Jesus and Mary into our lives, His light overshadows us with His Glory.

We take on that light by walking in Jesus path. Matthew 5:14 states, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden." With this Promise Our Lady seems to have 1 Corinthians 10:31 in mind, "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God." Our faith is not just an hour on Sunday, but we are to live our faith 24/7. God is first in our lives, He is number 1, spouses come in at number 2, family at number 3, work at number 4, and everything else moves down the line. The top three are really interconnected as the Lord wants the Husband and wife to be strong, He wants the family to be strong in the faith.

Heaven is praying for us to be faithful, Hebrews 12:1-2 states, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God." Consider what this text is saying? Who is this "great cloud of witnesses"? These are those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith in Heaven. They are not oblivious to what is happening on earth. The Saints are praying for us.

Revelation 8:3-5 states. "Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a gold censer. He was given a great quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the holy ones, on the gold altar that was before the throne. The smoke of the incense along with the prayers of the holy ones went up before God from the hand of the angel. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with burning coals from the altar, and hurled it down to the earth. There were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake." The result of that Heavenly intercession is significant. Consider the censer filled with burning coals from the altar? This is important to the forgiveness of sin and the proclamation of the Gospel from the Catholic Faith.

Isaiah 6:5-8 states, "Then I said, “Woe is me, I am doomed! For I am a man of unclean lips, living among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, holding an ember which he had taken with tongs from the altar. He touched my mouth with it. “See,” he said, “now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removed, your sin purged.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am,” I said; “send me!”

Isaiah received from the angel the same coal from the same altar that was hurled down to the earth. The people of God benefit from the prayers of the holy ones in Heaven. Notice that there were "Peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes lightening and an earthquake." Sounds very much like Revelation 11:19, "Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant could be seen in the temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder, an earthquake, and a violent hailstorm."

Revelation 12:1 is very important, "A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman* clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." The Virgin Mary is made Queen of Heaven and her intercession aids the world before her Son, Jesus Christ the King of kings and Lord of lords. At the death of the faithful believer, Mother Mary and the Host of Heaven will receive their souls. Jesus will say to you, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy.’ Matthew 25:23

By being faithful to the Rosary, you are piercing the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and will achieve a high degree in the Kingdom of God through God's eternal grace.
