The Catholic Defender: The 15 Promises Our Lady gave for the Rosary. The Ninth Promise

9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary. This is a very important promise in that all Christians should not place Purgatory as their first hope of Salvation. Granted, most saved persons will probably have a stay in Purgatory for some time because few of us die in a state of perfection who thankfully are not damned. All in Purgatory will have eternity in Heaven. That should be the ultimate goal of the believer, to Trust in Jesus and His Glorious Word.

St Paul expressed a prayer of petition for a co-worker of his who had previously died, 2 Timothy 1:16-18 states, "May the Lord grant mercy to the family of Onesiphorus because he often gave me new heart and was not ashamed of my chains. But when he came to Rome, he promptly searched for me and found me. May the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day. And you know very well the services he rendered in Ephesus." That reference "the Lord on that day" is speaking to the Parousia when Jesus returns at the Second Coming at the end of the age.

This life is a battle, we will get knocked down only to repeatedly have to get back up and dust off ourselves again and again as we move forward. What a fantastic promise this one is. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 offers this text to consider, "According to the grace of God given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But each one must be careful how he builds upon it, for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one’s work. If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage. But if someone’s work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved, but only as through fire."

Notice the last piece of this text? A person who is not damned to hell by the mercy of God will be saved, but only as through fire. That should not by your goal, not at all. Thank God for this because such a person will be saved, but you do not want to enter through the narrow gate just by the skin of your teeth. Our Lady is giving us a great opportunity to avoid all that by being devoted to the Rosary. Think about it, if you are devoted to the Rosary, you will be devoted also in the higher mysteries of the Catholic Faith.

St. Luke kind of touches on this saying, "The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones; and the person who is dishonest in very small matters is also dishonest in great ones." Luke 16:10 We are a work in progress, but make the Sacrament of Reconciliation a way of life. Mother Mary has already promised the faithful ones would not die without the Sacraments.

Hebrews 12:28-29 states, "Therefore, we who are receiving the unshakable kingdom should have gratitude, with which we should offer worship pleasing to God in reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming fire." For a long time now I've been presenting a boycott against Hell, that is a place none of us want to go. You do not have the Rock Group Kiss down there singing, "I want to rock and roll all night and party every day", that is just not happening.

Yes, I'm standing on the Rock and my name is on the Roll so I do "Rock and Roll". Why should the devil have all the good music? He doesn't! I love Donna Cory Gibson as she sings the Rosary.
