God the Father is the Purpose (The Planner and Source)

God the Son is the Passion (The Redeemer and Savior)

God the Holy Spirit is the Power (The Comforter and Guide)

Purpose, Passion, and Power poetically reflects the distinct, harmonious roles of the Christian Trinity while sharing one equal divine essence. 

God the Father (The Purpose): The Father is the ultimate initiator and architect of creation and redemption. He plans redemptive history and purposes salvation from eternity past.

God the Son (The Passion): The Son accomplishes the Father's purpose through His passionate love, sacrifice, and physical ministry on Earth. Jesus bore the weight of sin on the cross to redeem humanity.

God the Holy Spirit (The Power): The Spirit is the active, empowering presence of God. He applies the work of Christ to believers, guides them, and provides spiritual power and grace

Matthew 3:16–17 (Jesus’ Baptism): Shows all three persons active at once. Jesus the Son is baptized, the Spirit of God descends like a dove, and the Father speaks from heaven declaring His pleasure in His Son.

Ephesians 1:3–14: Outlines the distinct roles of each person in salvation. God the Father chose and planned redemption, Jesus the Son accomplished it through His blood and forgiveness, and the Holy Spirit seals believers as a guarantee of their inheritance.

2 Corinthians 13:14: The apostolic blessing highlights their unique functions in the believer's life: "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God [the Father], and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."

1 Peter 1:2: Connects the Godhead directly to our salvation process: believers are chosen "according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood."
