By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones, may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen.
Thrones are the Angels of pure Humility, Peace and Submisssion. They reside in the area of the cosmos where material form begins to take shape. The lower Choir of Angels need the Thrones to access God.
The 'thrones'; also known as 'ophanim' (offanim) and 'galgallin', are creatures that function as the actual chariots of God driven by the cherubs. They are characterized by peace and submission; God rests upon them.
since the throne of God is usually depicted as being moved by wheels, as in the vision of Daniel 7:9 (Old Testament)
Thrones are depicted as great wheels containing many eyes, and reside in the area of the cosmos where material form begins to take shape.
See, the men of Ariel cry out in the streets, the messengers of Shalem weep bitterly. Isaiah 33:7
The Thrones form the seventh choir; they contemplate and uphold God's power and authority. Below this first triad is the middle triad, made up of the Dominions (or Dominations), Virtues, and Powers. The Dominions comprise the sixth choir and regulate the duties of the lower angels, distributing God's orders to them.
They chant glorias to God and remain forever in his presence. They mete out divine justice and maintain the cosmic harmony of all universal laws.
As I (Daniel) watched, Thrones were set up and the Ancient of Days took his throne. His clothing was white as snow,
the hair on his head like pure wool; His throne was flames of fire, with wheels of burning fire. A river of fire surged forth, flowing from where he sat; Thousands upon thousands were ministering to him, and myriads upon myriads stood before him. Daniel 7:9-10
Flame of fire is the chosen symbol of the holiness of God ( Exodus 3:2 ; Revelation 2:18 ), as indicating "the intense, all-consuming operation of his holiness in relation to sin."
There the angel of the LORD appeared to him as fire flaming out of a bush. When he looked, although the bush was on fire, it was not being consumed. Exodus 3:2
“To the angel of the church in Thyatira,* write this: “‘The Son of God, whose eyes are like a fiery flame and whose feet are like polished brass, says this: “I know your works, your love, faith, service, and endurance, and that your last works are greater than the first. Revelation 2: 18
And about the Angels, certainly, he says: “He makes his Angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.” Hebrews 1:7
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him". Colossians 1:16-17
