In the Bible, the title "beloved man of God" or "greatly beloved" specifically refers to the prophet Daniel, who was described this way by an angel due to his fasting, prayer, and unwavering integrity during the Babylonian exile. This designation highlights someone who is highly esteemed, deeply loved, and favored by God.
The angel Gabriel calls Daniel "greatly beloved" three times in the book of Daniel (9:23, 10:11, 10:19) in response to his prayers and obedience.
In the Old Testament, it signifies someone favored, righteous, and chosen by God. In the New Testament, "beloved" refers to being dearly loved by God, a term applied to Jesus and believers who are adopted into God's family.
He was beloved for his unwavering faithfulness in a pagan culture, his constant prayer life, and his integrity even under the threat of death in the lions' den.
A Man After God’s Heart: Despite his failures, God described David as a man who sought His own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).
