Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithfuland kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created,and you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O God, who have taught the hearts of the faithfulby the light of the Holy Spirit,grant that in the same Spirit we may be truly wiseand ever rejoice in his consolation.Through Christ our Lord. Amen.


The prayer "Come, Holy Spirit" (traditionally known in Latin as Veni, Sancte Spiritus) is an ancient invocation used by Christians to invite God's presence, guidance, and spiritual renewal into their lives.


"Come, Holy Spirit, come! And from your celestial home shed a ray of light divine!


Come, Father of the poor! Come, source of all our store! Come, within our bosoms shine.


You, of comforters the best; You, the soul's most welcome guest; Sweet refreshment here below


"Come Holy Spirit, I need you. Come Holy Spirit, I pray.

Come with your strength and your power. Come in your own special way.

Come like a spring in the desert. Come to the weary of soul.

Oh, let your sweet healing power. Touch me and make me whole."


The Holy Spirit—the third person of the Trinity—is referred to by many names in scripture and tradition, each revealing a unique aspect of His nature and divine work. Calling upon the Holy Spirit is an invitation for His guidance, comfort, and transforming presence in your life


The Advocate / Counselor (Paraclete): From the Greek parakletos, meaning one who is called alongside to help, comfort, and intercede for you.


Spirit of Truth: He guides you into all truth and reveals the reality of God's Word.


Spirit of God / Spirit of the Lord: Emphasizes His divine nature and presence.


The Comforter: The Spirit who brings peace, consolation, and reassurance during difficult times.


Spirit of Life: The life-giving force that brings spiritual rebirth and empowers holy living.


Spirit of Wisdom and Grace: He grants understanding, spiritual insight, and unmerited favor.


Breath: The Hebrew word Ruach translates to breath, wind, or a blast of air, symbolizing life and the Spirit's invisible, moving power.


Fire: Represents His purifying, refining, and empowering presence.


Living Water: Symbolizes the spiritual nourishment, refreshment, and eternal life He provides.


The Anointing: Represents the equipping and empowering for specific tasks and ministries.


A Dove: A beautiful symbol of peace, purity, and the Spirit's gentle nature.


Veni Creator Spiritus (Come, Creator Spirit): A classic ancient hymn and prayer.


The main names for the Holy Spirit: Counselor; Comforter; Baptizer; Advocate; Strengthener; Sanctifier; Spirit of Christ (not the same as the spirit of Christ); Seven-Fold Spirit (Rev.); Spirit of Truth; Spirit of Grace; Spirit of Mercy; Spirit of God; Spirit of Holiness; Spirit of Life.
