The Catholic Defender: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" or "Evil triumphs when good people do nothing".

Pray the Rosary for America. When America is strong, the world is safer, especially when Christ is centered by the world Governemts.

With the advance of Demonstrations around America against President Trump and Conservatives who support our police officers, the National Guard and ICE. They are serving the nation with the mission of taking those who crossed into America off the street that have committed crimes against American citizens.

These demonstrations have caused much chaos as they claim that these police officers are "racists", "nazis", and "pedifiles". Unfortunately this includes anyone who supports the taking of hardened criminals off the our streets to protect innocent Americans. I myself have been caught up in this as these demonstraters have begun coming to Gardner Kansas many of them from out of town. This last Saturday, when it was 16 degrees, I was out there responding to their protest as I have the past 2 Saturdays.

On this occasion one of the agitators stood there smiling at me as he told me that I had threatened his wife for not supporting President Trump. I quickly responded that this was a lie. That was not true, but I later learned why he was smiling at me, because it seems that he had collaborated with others to push such a lie that was presented to a local Pastor that I consider a good friend. In looking at this, this smiling at me does not sound right. Would I be smiling at someone that I seriously thought had threatened to kill my wife? Not at all! Also, it was relayed to me that others presented this same lie by other people claiming that I was on church grounds making such a statement? This lie did not happen, this lie was not from me on the location of the demonstration.

At this same demonstration I was told that they had cast aspell on me from the leader of the agitators. I did challenge these demonstrators how they could claim themselves to be christian of any kind, Catholic, or Protestant for being out there bearing false witness against ther neighbors. The continued their attacks upon me for beiing out there. I was not leaving before them. I was not going to let them win the day.

One more thing that I will present coming from these demonstaters, several of these agitators bore signs claiming that ICE had murdered one of their own, Renee Nicole Good. Her death was a tragidy, it happened as she hit an ICE agent with he vehicle. She did hit the officer causing internal hemorage that he was hospitalized for. Renee was shot and killed as the officer was defending his life. Renee had previously been involved with harrassing ICE police officers that day. As she was about to be arrested for her interference her lesbian " wife" yelled to Renee, "drive baby drive" and that is when she stepped on the gas hitting the police officer.

A number of these demonstraters with their posters claiming Renee was murdered by ICE gathered around me holding her up to be a champion for Democracy. I totally rejected this active onslaught around me. Saddly, Renee was not a person to hold up as a model person living a live in Mortal sin. I was responding to them that unfortunately, in all probability she might be in hell. This was presented against me by these agitators. I pray the Rosary, the Divine Mercy, the Angelus that would include praying for her soul. That is all I can do, God does not send anyone to hell, but people go their because of the choices they make.

According to Catholic teaching, dying in a state of unrepented mortal sin leads directly to hell, which is eternal separation from God, but God's mercy allows for forgiveness through repentance and confession, and conditions like full knowledge and consent are required for a sin to be mortal, with potential exceptions for those with diminished understanding or capacity.

For a sin to be considered mortal, three conditions must be met, as outlined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) 1857-1859

Grave Matter:

Full Knowledge:

Deliberate Consent:

The Church classifies homosexual acts as a grave matter. Therefore, if a person chooses to engage in lesbian sexual acts with full knowledge and consent, the Church considers this a mortal sin.

The Church does not recognize or perform same-sex marriages.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that "homosexual acts" are "intrinsically disordered" and "contrary to the natural law".

Engaging in sexual activity within a same-sex union is considered "grave matter," which is the first requirement for a mortal sin. Pope Francis has clarified that while such acts are a "sin" according to Catholic moral teaching, they are not a "crime" and should not be criminalized by civil governments.

Both the local Pastor and my wife scoulded me for saying that Renee in all probability might be in hell, clearly not someone to lift up as a person to be a model for all to acclaim.

In retrospect, I will say that it was uncharitable to claim such a thing about Renee. If she is in hell, that is solely God's judgement. Still, as I confronted the nonsence put forth by the agitators today there are many confused as she was.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,  often attributed to Irish statesman Edmund Burke,  with variations appearing in his writings and other sources like John Stuart Mill, emphasizing that passivity by good people enables injustice to prevail.

The phrase highlights the moral responsibility of individuals to actively oppose wrongdoing, as silence and inaction are forms of complicity that allow evil to succeed.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" or "Evil triumphs when good people do nothing".

Edmund Burke and John Stewart Mill seems to agree with Pope Leo XIII who empasizes the duty of Catholics to publicly defend truth against error, stating that silence or retreat from adversaries is a sign of weak faith, benefits only enemies, and that often a few strong words could defeat falsehoods, urging courageous action for the good of the Church and humanity.

This reflects his broader call for Catholics to be engaged and firm in their faith in the face of modern challenges, a core theme in his teachings, especially in encyclicals addressing contemporary issues.

The sentiment comes from Leo XIII's teachings, often highlighted in discussions about Christian duty and engagement with the world, stressing that silence isn't neutral but aids opponents.

Christians should not be timid; their silence empowers those attacking truth, and their active defense, even with modest effort, can overcome errors.

Citing St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Leo XIII argues that every Christian is obligated to "show forth his faith" and repel attacks from unbelievers.

Also, St. Leo famously states that "Christians are born for combat," emphasizing that the nature of following Christ involves the public profession of truth, even when it is unpopular.

Leo XIII suggests that many modern errors persist only because Christians remain quiet, noting that "a few bold words" are often sufficient to vanquish false ideas"

If the laws of the state conflict with the laws of God, "we ought to obey God rather than men".

Catholics must deeply study their doctrine to be prepared to defend it publicly.

There is no inherent conflict between being a good citizen and a faithful Catholic, provided the state respects religious liberty.
