The Catholic Defender: Prayer to Defeat the Work of Satan

St. Paul Writes “For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

We are living in a time when many today rejects the reality of Satan, despite the increase of evil in our times. Pope Paul VI wrote that if people met the Devil as he is, they would flee from him in terror, but if Satan comes through a subliminal means, people are lured to him.

The Catholic Church has always recognized our enemy, but as society continues to become more secular, the Devil's power increases. That is why spiritual warfare is crucial that we are engaged. We are not simply on the sidelines.

In 2014, Pope Francis warned that the Devil is on the prowl and we have to fight against him. According to the Pope, we are to take courage because the Lord is with us. We are not orphaned.

Along with the prayer to St. Michael:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

I encourage everyone to include the following prayer:

A Prayer to Defeat the Work of Satan; O Divine Eternal Father, in union with your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg You to destroy the Power of your greatest enemy — the evil spirits. Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain them there forever! Take possession of your Kingdom which You have created and which is rightfully yours. Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I repeat this prayer out of pure love for You with every beat of my heart and with every breath I take. Amen

Holy medals, holy water, blessed objects are great as the cursed cannot stand to be near these blessings. What is even greater is when you are living a blessed life, you can defeat the Devil with Jesus and His Grace in your corner!
