The Catholic Defender: El Cid VS the Radical Islamic Terrorist
Spanish Philosopher George Santayana (1862-1952) once made the statement: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." The West certainly should take a hard look at what is going on today. Because of the tinted sunglasses we've been wearing, we have largely blinded ourselves through the lenses of political correctness and modern Liberalism.
One thing that should never be misunderestimated should be the threat of Radical Islamic Terrorism. Yet, we continue to treat Islamic violence specifically as a crime instead of a threatening ideology.
The Middle East seems to have awakened in our day in time when Americans and most Europeans have been asleep despite the modern migration of Islamic peoples into the West. In times past what is being seen today could have been seen as an invasion where the threat against the West is real.
In the Movie, "El Cid", Charlton Heston played a role leading Christian Europe against the invading armies of Yusuf bin Tashufin who sought conquest of Christian Europe in the 11th Century. In October 1094 Spain was threatened by an army greater than six to one as they invaded through the Port of Valencia and the local militias were no match against the invaders.
The Siege of Valencia lasted 10 days and nights surrounded by Muslims largely from Maghreb and the Sahara. From inside the walls, the Christians and their allies waited as a sea of black surrounded the city on mounted camel with thousands of drums beating in the distance. The threat was real.
This "holy war" being waged against the Christians of the Iberian Peninsula was the beginning of the invasion plans of Yusuf vin Tashufin.
El Cid became the inspiration that united Christian Spain that stopped the threat that basically saved all of Europe. A thousand years later and the mindset of the Islamic Fundamentalist still has the mindset that seems to have been largely dormant until now.
Today, another advancing invasion carrying the black flag as a reminder of the sea of black that once threatened Valencia now threatens all of what use to be Christian Europe and the West.
Today, I was shocked to see the nearly hundred Islamic Terrorist groups that have developed up to include the Islamic State in Iraq, Boke Harem, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, Hezbollah, Isis, Al Qaeda to name some of the most known.
Iran is probably the greatest threat to the West because their Government is based from the seventh century beliefs that a great Imam would arrive bringing about the end of the world as we know it. This Prophet of Islam would be a redeemer of Islam popular among the Sunni/Shia Muslims. These radicals seek to usher in this "Prophet" causing chaos and violence to bring about war.
That is why putting a nuclear bomb in the hands of Iran would be extremely dangerous. Not just for Israel, but the whole world. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the arm of IREC is charged with the subversion abroad. They sponsor foreign military campaigns supporting groups like Hezbollah, they have a martyrdom seeking Division with today nearly 50,000 volunteers committed to suicide operations.
The suicide attacks in Afghanistan (1/27/2018) killing 103 people and wounded nearly 240 is just the latest in this war from within. Sri Lanka, Islamic Terrorist killed over 300 wounding nearly 500 more on Easter Sunday. Consider the following statistics:
The Global Terrorism Database at the University of Maryland reports since 1970 there were over 150,000 terrorist attacks using explosives, small arms, knives/machetes, and using planes and trucks to kill innocent people.
According to the Georgia State researchers they reported in the United States between 2011-2015 there have been 110 terrorist attacks, 57,000 world wide through the same time period. With the invasion of Europe, (I call) Operation Chaos is in full affect. Since the Islamic migration sweeping Europe has come countless rapes, violence that is breaking down local society on the European Continent.
America is threatened as Isis is using the Internet to radicalize lone wolves to cause chaotic violence. The resent killings in Los Vegas and Texas were conducted by Islamic converts which is under reported by the media because of political correctness.
No longer do we have an "El Cid" that will lead us in battle against the invading forces of Yusuf vin Tashufin, but we do have some hope as President Donald Trump has recognized the imminent threat taking place before America and the West today. It is time that America seeks the Lord Jesus Christ while he still may be found (Isaiah 55:6) and repent of our sin (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Before America stands two roads, freedom and peace or destruction and violence. It's time that we respect our flag, our troops, and our anthem. It's time that we do fall on our knees not to protest, but to call out for the Lord who will forgive. Now is the time:
"Working together with him, then, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says, "At the acceptable time I have listened to you, and helped you on the day of salvation." Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:1-3
