Troy Guy is a former Baptist who converted to Catholicism after researching church history to disprove it, subsequently founding Discover His Church Media to assist with Catholic apologetics. He authored Evangelical Catholic and, along with his family, entered the Catholic Church at the 2017 Easter Vigil, shifting from a career in aerospace engineering to ministry.

Troy Guy was deeply involved in evangelical Protestantism for over 25 years. He initially sought to persuade Catholics to leave their faith, believing it was not aligned with the Bible.

For over 25 years, Troy was a devout Baptist. Driven by a desire to "save" Catholics from what he believed were theological errors, he began a deep study of the Bible and Church history.

His research into the Eucharist, the role of Mary, and the historical foundations of the early Church led him to the conclusion that the Catholic Church was the original home he had been seeking.

He is the author of the book "Evangelical Catholic" and founded Discover His Church Media to help others understand and defend the Catholic faith.

While studying to oppose Catholic beliefs, specifically regarding the Eucharist and Mary, he found historical evidence that convinced him the Catholic Church was the original church founded by Christ.

Beyond his conversion, Guy has a professional background in engineering, having managed engineering laboratories for commercial space systems and worked on projects at Lockheed Martin Space Systems.

He now runs Discover His Church Media, aimed at helping Catholics defend their faith against fundamentalist and secular challenges.

Troy Guy accepted Jesus into his heart as a child, and was on fire for his faith from as far back as he can remember.

His desire to follow Christ more closely led him to read and study everything he could get his hands on, and to persuade as many people as he could — even Catholics — to follow Jesus only, and not anything that he thought resembled “organized religion.”

As part of his desire to evangelize Catholics out of what he thought were errors in their beliefs, he began to study key doctrinal questions about Mary, the Eucharist, and Church history, and started to discover that not only was he wrong about what he thought Catholics believed, but that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ and was the true Christian home he’d been searching for.
