The Catholic Defender: Transforming By Way of Jesus Through Mary, Mary’s YES: The Way of Transformation

Transforming "by way of Jesus through Mary" is a Catholic spiritual path centered on Marian consecration, popularized by St. Louis de Montfort as a secure, fast, and perfect means to reach union with Jesus. It involves entrusting one’s spiritual life to Mary, allowing her to shape the believer into the image of Christ, just as she formed his body.

Total Consecration: Giving oneself entirely to Mary so she can lead one to Jesus, mirroring St. John Paul II's motto "Totus Tuus" ("Totally Yours").

Marian Formation: Mary forms Jesus in the believer by the power of the Holy Spirit, nurturing their spiritual life and helping them become "new Christs".

Motherly Intercession: Mary, as Mediatrix, brings human efforts to Christ, making them acceptable to Him.

Humility and Yes: Mary's "Yes" (Fiat) serves as a model of humility, opening the believer to receive grace and transformation.

Consecration: A structured, often 33-day preparation (popularized by works like 33 Days to Morning Glory), is used to formally pledge this spiritual path.

Living the Consecration: Believers offer their prayers, works, and sufferings to Jesus through Mary, trusting her to purify their intentions.

Union with Jesus: The final goal is never Mary herself, but rather through her, a more perfect union with her Son.

Yes, the essence of perfection consists in transforming ourselves into Jesus, in becoming new Christs.

Now, just as Jesus was first generated by Mary, so too must we be generated by Mary.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, Mary generates us to new life, to new life, to the life of Christ.

Abandon ourselves to Mary so that she may transform us into Jesus.

We transform ourselves into Jesus: through Holy Communion and prayer.

But to be nourished, it is not enough to take food.

We must also be able to assimilate it.

Entrust this transformation, this assimilation, to Mary, nourish ourselves with Jesus through Mary, receive Jesus from Mary.

We give ourselves to Mary only to give ourselves more perfectly to Jesus.

We give ourselves to Mary so that she may present us to her divine son with her purifying hands: passing through her, our donation will be purer and its value infinitely increased.
