The Catholic Defender: The Virgin Mary visits San Nicolas, Argentina starting in 1983

The Virgin Mary first appeared to Gladys while she was praying the rosary, wearing a blue gown and carrying the Infant Jesus.

Mary directed Gladys to find a forgotten statue of her in the local cathedral's bell tower. Gladys discovered the 1884 statue on November 27, 1983; it perfectly matched her visions.

Mary requested the construction of a sanctuary "on the banks of the Paraná". The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary was inaugurated in 2014 and remains a major pilgrimage site.

Over 1,800 messages were recorded, emphasizing prayer (especially the Rosary), conversion, and the Eucharist. Jesus also reportedly appeared with 68 separate messages during this period.

The visions were accompanied by reports of glowing rosaries, the solar phenomenon ("dancing sun"), and Gladys receiving the stigmata on her wrists, feet, and side.

Marian apparitions in San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Argentina, to Gladys Quiroga de Motta began in 1983 and were officially approved by the local Catholic Church in 2016 as "supernatural in character" and "worthy of belief," leading to the establishment of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of San Nicoláshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_the_Rosary_of_San_Nicolás. These visions, featuring Our Lady of the Rosary and Jesus, involved messages for prayer, conversion, glowing rosaries, and miracles, attracting thousands of pilgrims to the shrine.

Gladys Quiroga de Motta, a devout housewife with little formal education, received visions and messages.

The apparitions continued until February 11, 1990, with messages ongoing.

Calls for prayer, conversion, and warnings about the modern world, with emphasis on the Rosary and the Bible.

Glowing rosaries, miraculous healings (including a boy with brain cancer), stigmata on Gladys, and the sun dancing.

Bishop Hector Cardelli of San Nicolás officially approved the apparitions as supernatural on May 22, 2016.

A sanctuary was built at the site, drawing large crowds of pilgrims.

The approval granted an imprimatur, allowing the messages to be published as not contrary to faith or morals, marking a significant moment for the devotion Our Lady of the Rosary of San Nicolás

This made San Nicolás one of the few Marian sites in the 21st century with a living visionary to receive full diocesan approval.
