The Catholic Defender: Prayer for Guidance

O Virgin Most Prudent and Mother of Good Counsel, I come before you seeking your powerful guidance and maternal protection. Wrap me under your loving mantle, shield my heart from fear or doubt, and lead my steps securely toward your Divine Son, Jesus Christ. 

Most Holy Virgin Mary, chosen by eternal counsel to be the Mother of the Word made Flesh and the treasurer of divine graces, I look to you today for guidance. 

You who stood firm in faith through unfamiliar paths and challenging decisions, lend your wisdom to my heart. Grant me the grace to quiet my mind, ponder God's actions, and hear His voice.

O Mother of Good Counsel, take my intentions into your hands and carry them to your Son. Obtain for me the spirit of wisdom, understanding, and counsel so that I may walk strictly in the way of truth and love. Guide my words to inspire peace, and guard my actions to reflect Christ’s charity.

My dear Mother Mary, stay close to me as I journey through life. I place all my worries, hopes, and decisions into your hands today. Walk beside me wherever I go, and clear the path before me so that I may always choose what is pleasing to God. 

When the options before me are confusing, grant me your peace. Teach me to say "yes" to God's holy will with the same trust that you held in your Immaculate Heart. Bring the light of Christ into my current situation, and never leave me to face these troubles alone. 

Remember, O Immaculate Mary, Virgin Mother of Good Counsel, that it has never been heard of in any age that such as had recourse to thee, imploring thy help and seeking thy powerful intercession, were ever rejected or refused or abandoned.

Inspired with the like hope and confidence, I fly to thee, O Mary, Virgin Mother of Good Counsel, and my Mother; before thy shrine I come, casting myself on my unworthiness. O Mother of the Eternal Word made Flesh, obtain for me, through the whole course of my life, all the graces and blessings I more require, from the Sacred and Adorable Heart of Jesus, my Savior, O Virgin Mother of Good Counsel, reject not my petitions, but mercifully hear and answer me. Amen.
