Judy Alciatore: We Believe, Take Heed

The insidiousness of a lie rests in the power, not of the teller, but in the naive believer. With little to no evidence of its veracity, a lie worms its way into the minds of those all too willing to believe that it is true.

Whisper against someone to a person who dislikes that someone, and the lie is believed. That is how lies about the Catholic faith begin...they are told to those who are pre-disposed to believe them due to their ignorance, often deliberate, of the truth of Catholicism.

The lies spread to others who do not like or trust the Catholic Church, perhaps they do not like Catholics in general. This was also done to the Jews who suffered under the Nazi regime.

They were scapegoats for the problems of the German people. Hitler convinced them, and they willingly believed, that the Jews were taking away all the goods of the country, all the wealth and power, and hoarding it for themselves.

Pope Pius XII saved thousands of lives during that time, but a lie, begun by a possible Nazi or Nazi sympathizer, and whispered into the ears of those who did not know better, has besmirched his reputation since.

The truth can be found if one wants to know the truth. Sadly, there are all too many who are happy in their ignorance, because of their own prejudice. So, you see, the power of a lie rests in the minds of those who willingly believe the lie, and spread it to others who think as they do.

This is the insidiousness of lies, prejudice, hatred, and violence against those who are different... And Catholics ARE different....We believe in the Holy Eucharist...We believe in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass...We believe in the Sacrament of Penance...We believe in EVERYTHING THAT JESUS SAID AND DID WHILE HE WAS ON THIS EARTH...

A true Catholic does not pick and choose what to believe...We do not adhere to a "cafeteria faith"... True Catholics do not sit in judgment upon the souls of others, but we DO AND MUST SIT IN JUDGMENT UPON EVIL DEEDS AND LIFESTYLES...

True Catholics do not tolerate evil in any form... Yes, we are different, and therefore, we are hated by the world...And what is the reaction to this hatred?,,,

A true Catholic does not hate in return...We pray for those who love us and for those who hate us...Why?...Because ALL people are children of God.

NOW IS THE TIME TO HEED

NOW IS THE TIME TO VANQUISH YOUR SINS

NOW IS THE TIME TO CONFESS

NOW IS THE TIME

TO GIVE UP THY GREED TO HOLD TO MY WAYS NOTHING LESS

AS YOU LAY DOWN THY BURDEN OF GUILT AS YOU REPENT OF YOUR WAYS

KNOW THAT FORGIVENESS IS YOURS TO BE HELD CLOSE TO YOUR HEART ALL YOUR DAYS

NOW IS THE TIME TO LOOK FOR MY TRUTH NOW IS THE TIME TO SEE

LISTEN AND HEED TO ALL OF MY WORDS KNEEL AND BOW DOWN WORSHIP ME

FORGET ALL THY SELFISH AND WANTON ATTRACTIONS FORGET ALL THY LUSTFUL DISPLAYS

REMEMBER THE ONE WHO DIED ON THE CROSS REMEMBER ME NOW AND ALWAYS

NOW IS THE TIME BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE NOW IS THE TIME WHILE YOU BREATHE

FILL UP THY HEART WITH LOVE AND MY GRACE BE STILL, BE QUIET AND BELIEVE

NOW IS THE TIME!!
