the Marian apparitions at L'Île-Bouchard, France, in 1947, where the Virgin Mary appeared to four children, have been approved for public devotion and faith expression by the local Church, though the Church hasn't officially confirmed the supernatural truth of the apparitions themselves, recognizing abundant "fruits of prayer".  Archbishop André Vingt-Trois authorizing pilgrimages and veneration in 2001 as a place of grace.

This is a strong endorsement for devotion, meaning the faithful are encouraged to visit and pray, even if it's not a definitive "this happened" declaration of the apparition's truth.

In May 2004, the message associated with the apparitions (which emphasizes prayer for France and sinners) was approved by Archbishop Vingt-Trois and other bishops.

From 8 to 14 December 1947, L'Île-Bouchard was the site of Marian apparitions.

Four girls aged 7 to 12 reported having seen the Virgin Mary and the archangel Gabriel.

The site was declared an official pilgrimage of the diocese of Tours on 8 December 2001 by the archbishop Monseigneur André Vingt-Trois. Laura cried out that she could see a beautiful lady and an angel but Sergine, though, saw nothing, and the others had to describe the scene for her.

At first they were not believed either by their parents of the pastor of the Church.

In the case of Jacqueline, she had very poor vision due to conjuctivitis and wore thick glasses, so they assumed that she was just seeing double.

However, this led to a miraculous event.

The girls requested some sort of sign and, miraculously, Jacqueline retained her vision and could see with no problems whatsoever.

The site was declared an official pilgrimage site of the diocese of Tours on 8 December 2001 by the archbishop Monseigneur André Vingt-Trois.

Since 1999, priests and lay persons from Emmanuel Community have been in charge of the pilgrims.

The apparitions themselves, however, still await approval……..although that process has begun to move forward after being held up for about 20 years.
