May 1, 2024, Missouri State Capitol grounds, it was an honor to have been present for the march and to see people I've not seen for a long time.
The church teaches that procured abortion is an intrinsic evil and a crime against human life, dignity, and freedom because it is the murder (direct intentional killing) of a human being.
However, although abortions can be obtained legally, the Catholic Church works from the premise that human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception (CCC 2270). The Catholic Church believes that no woman should have to choose between her own well-being and the life of her child.

"Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law" (No. 2271).Â
The Second Vatican Council declared: "Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes"
The pro-life movement's primary purpose is to oppose abortion and advocate for the legal protection of unborn fetuses. Pro-lifers believe that a fetus is a human being with a right to life from conception, making abortion a violation of that right. They also work to provide support for pregnant women and families, promoting adoption and alternative resources.Â
The core belief is that every human life, including the unborn, has inherent dignity and the right to life.Â

Pro-life advocates aim to create a society that values and protects all human life from conception to natural death.Â
Pro-lifers educate the public about the potential of every human life and the realities of abortion.Â
We strive for the day when all are welcomed throughout life and protected in law. We fight for humanity. We stand for dignity. We advocate unabashedly for the life of every person of every age, background, and belief.
The March for life that began in Washington D.C continues to grow in numbers and today , States have these demonstrations at the State Capitals such as Jefferson City Missouri 1 May march for many who can not make the trip to Washington D.C. This year at Jefferson City Missouri was the 15th March. Thousands of people attend to show their support for life and human dignity. Speakers present talks like those who have survived the abortion.
