The Catholic Defender: Many in the NFL are waging war on the American Flag

On August 10, 2016, San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick arrived at spring camp wearing socks depicting Police as pigs which caused a major scandal that continues to plague the National Football League (NFL).
Following a preseason game, Kaepernick spoke to the press wearing a pro-Castro tee-shirt which identified him with the Communist dictatorship in Cuba.
The media covered each and every event at 49er football games because of Kaepernick disrespecting the American Flag and our National Anthem.
Speaking of the socks, Kaepernick stated, "I wore these socks, in the past, because the rogue cops that are allowed to hold positions in police departments, not only put the community in danger, but also put the cops that have the right intentions in danger by creating an environment of tension and mistrust," The New York Daily News, Thursday, September 1, 2016, 11:54 AM

Because of the media coverage, this was an embarrassment to the NFL, so the narrative was changed to fit a very Left-wing agenda criticizing the Police throughout the Country. So the disrespecting of the flag became a "Constitutional Right" for "Free Speech."
This spectacle was a major issue throughout the 2016 Season. During this time Black Lives Matter became a political tool used to make racial inequality center stage.
I want to make an important point here, it is sad when anyone is killed by a police officer, especially when they did so wrongly. But to treat these occurrences as if it was mostly Black men or other minorities would be incorrect. Also to portray that all police are evil racist is wrong as well.
In 2015, the Washington Post reported that 1,502 people were shot and killed by police officers. 732 were white, 381 were black, and another 389 were other races.
(Editors note: Craig Floyd, president and CEO of National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund stated, “We must never forget that 900,000 law enforcement officers nationwide risk their lives every day for our safety and protection..., This year, 135 of those men and women did not make it home to their families at the end of their shift.” This is a five year high which many of them were ambushed.)

Some are arguing that the police go after black men at a much larger rate than anyone else.
Hence the media's coverage of NFL football players taking a knee or sitting down during the National Anthem.
What people are purposely ignoring is that many blacks are involved in gangs causing black on black crime. Not to mention the high rate of drugs and violence in the community.
In 2017, we have seen more NFL players coming out disrespecting the American flag. The media have effectively tossed out of the public mind the Pro-Communist background of this movement for the racial narrative.
Tonight as I watched the Oakland Raiders play the Washington Redskins, practically the entire bench disrespected the American Flag.

The Pittsburgh Steelers decided not to come out of the locker room except one lone player who served in the Military and came out of the tunnel to honor the Colors placing his hand over his heart.
This "protest" was launched as a result of what President Trump said when he was talking to a large crowd in Alabama. He basically was wanting to see the owners and coaches take a stand to honor the American Flag and those who served to protect our basic freedoms.
Why does this seem to affect the black community more than anyone else? There is a higher incidence of crime among the black community and some would want to change the laws to legalize the crime. This is what the vast majority see with all this "protest" of "inequality."
The average NFL player makes about $1.9 M per year, think about that a second. Some make far more than that. A rookie can expect to receive about $350,000. Where is the inequality in this? If I was given $1 million I would be set for life.

The other day, the news reported a team of 8 and 9 year old players were on bent knees during the playing of the National Anthem. This virus is spreading which will end America as we know it. This is the ultimate goal of those organizing these "protests". To disrespect the National Anthem, the American Flag, our troops, our ideals and our way of life, Socialism and Communism is waiting to rush through the cracks.
Serving in the United States Army for better than 26 years, I proudly stand there next to former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva and lament the disgrace that so many are showing the world.
I certainly believe in the right to protest, but disrespecting the National Anthem and the American Flag is not the world stage to do it. Neither is stomping or burning the Flag? President Trump early in his Presidential Campaign defended the American Flag and spoke against those who disrespect it.
