The issue is Revelation 17 that speaks to the destruction of Jerusalem as if in the future, yet he was on the Island of Patmos when he wrote it. Did John know the impending time of Jerusalem's destruct

The Catholic Defender: The Lord's Prayer, The Model Prayer For All
The most recognizable prayer of all time is the “Our Father”, the great example that Jesus offers to His followers when asked how they should pray. According to the Gospel of Luke 11:1-4, it states, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to

The Catholic Defender: The History of Lent
I left college in the winter of 1979, and moved south of Branson Missouri to Northern Arkansas to a nearby town, Harrison Arkansas. I would live there nearly five years before finally signing up with the United States Army. I recall one day in 1980, I received a phone call from a local resident of Harrison Arkansas who was not happy with my strong Catholic Faith. This Gentleman claimed to have been raised a Catholic, went to twelve years of Catholic school, but was now a pr

And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing" (

Deepertruth with special permission and aid with Franiciscan Media, a great team for the Lord https://deepertruthdon.podbean.com/e/deepertruth-stand-in-the-gap-with-us-and-saint-agatha/ As in the case of Agnes, another virgin-martyr of the early Church, almost nothing is historically certain about this saint except that she was martyred in Sicily during the persecution of Emperor Decius in 251. Agatha, like Agnes, was arrested as a Christian, tortured, and sent to a house of

The Catholic Defender: Iraq in the Archive part 3
The 2-5 Cavalry deployed to Iraq beginning in October 2006. We first spent a couple of weeks to in process into the Theater of Operation and to our designated area of responsibility. The Battalion area and the bulk of our Companies were on FOB Victory and this is where I would maintain my Troop Medical Clinic sharing with other Units combining our assets. The Catholic Defender: Iraq was a great opportunity to spread the Catholic Faith Part 4
Wednesday April 11, 2007 I wrote, "Last night was an extra ordinary evening. At 21:00 hours, I went to the ALOC to visit a couple of soldiers on duty with a movie I was able to share. As we watched the movie we began to talk about the Catholic faith. I discovered that both soldiers were former Catholics whose parents left the Church when they were young. I ended up talking to them until 05:00 in the morning after both decided they want to become active Catholics! I got

The Catholic Defender: More Iraq Quotations 2009 Part 5
Thursday February 5, 2009: I will begin this thread just before I fly because of a couple of things I want to report. This past month there was a lady who began coming to our Bible Study who is genuinely searching for the truth. She is married to a Catholic currently coming from the Southern Baptist (1848) denomination. She has had a great many questions so I encouraged her to come on Wed nights to a presentation I was giving the past two weeks. She was at the past two event

The Catholic Defender: Flash from the Past in Iraq Part 7
It was a Tuesday, March 20,2007 At Joint Security Station Sadr City, another miracle took place today as we received wounded soldiers at the Troop Medical Clinic (TMC). They were hit by sniper fire, after discovering a major IED that would have done much damage. The enemy planned to detonate the IED and then shoot at the first responders. Because they didn't use the IED (it was blown up by us with no one hurt, the soldiers that were wounded will survive and be fine. Everyth
