The Catholic Defender: Our Lady of the Rosary, St. Therese, St. Jude Novenas Three in one

Confraternity NOVENA Starts October 7, Begin by making the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

NOVENA PRAYER

O Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, I thank you for your maternal protection, and for the many blessings I have received through your powerful intercession. Blessed Mother you asked at Fatima for the daily recitation of the Rosary for peace in the world and in individual souls. I offer my Rosary as a spiritual “Bouquet of Roses” for the intentions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in atonement for the offenses committed against your Immaculate Heart, and in petition for the favors I ask in this Novena. With great confidence in your powerful intercession, I place these petitions in your hands, and beseech you to present them to Jesus. He will never refuse what you ask of Him.

THE MEMORARE

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother; to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Call on the Holy Spirit.Come Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of the faithful, and kindle in them the fire of divine love.

  1. Call on St. Thérèse.Dearest St. Thérèse of Lisieux, you said that you would spend your time in heaven doing good on earth.Your trust in God was complete. Pray that He may increase my trust in His goodness and mercy as I ask for the following petitions … [name your petitions]

  2. Ask St. Thérèse to pray for you.Pray for me that I, like you, may have great and innocent confidence in the loving promises of our God. Pray that I may live my life in union with God’s plan for me, and one day see the Face of God whom you loved so deeply.St. Thérèse, you were faithful to God even unto the moment of your death. Pray for me that I may be faithful to our loving God. May my life bring peace and love to the world through faithful endurance in love for God our savior.

  3. Talk with God.Loving God, you blessed St. Thérèse with a capacity for a great love. Help me to believe in your unconditional love for each of your children, especially for me.

  4. Say and rest with the day’s prayer.Your guide on Hallow will lead you through each day of the novena. Rest with today’s intention to grow closer to God through the intercession of St. Thérèse of Lisieux.

  5. Close with a Glory Be.Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

NOVENA PRAYER TO SAINT JUDE

Glorious apostle, Saint Jude Thaddeus, I salute you through the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Through his heart I praise and thank God for all the graces he has bestowed upon you. I implore you, through his love, to look upon me with compassion. Do not despise my poor prayer. Do not let my trust be confounded! God has granted to you the privilege of aiding mankind in the most desperate cases. Oh, come to my aid that I may praise the mercies of God! All my life I will be your grateful client until I can thank you in heaven. Amen.

The victory of the Christian fleet in the naval Battle of Lepanto, October 7, 1571. Pope St. Pius V attributed this saving battle to the praying of the Rosary by all of Europe. He commemorated this with a new feast day, Our Lady of Victory. The feast was later renamed Our Lady of the Rosary.
