The Catholic Defender: We Respect our Police, Firefighters, First Responders and our Veterans

This past week Deepertruth gathered at Marshall Missouri to honor and pray for our Police, Firefighters, First Responders and our military/Veterans. This was a great beginning as we hope to honor America and display the American Flag because of all the rebellion we are facing today.

The Past several months we have watched nightly how cities have been burning, looters stealing, destruction of property, and the attack on police. Thousands hurt, some seriously and some killed. We want to change the projectory of where our country is going. Former Russian President Leonid Brezhnev warned that America would fall without firing a shot because America would fall from within.

All the more reason people of faith must rise up and help change the direction and course the past several years, There were three basic reasons Brezhnev gave for the decline of America. In 1965 America was in the middle of the Sexual Revolution and Religion still was very much mainstream in American life. However, the past couple of decades Secularism has taken a toll on American life as Divorce continues to rise, cults are being cultivated, and Religion mocked.

After the decline of Religion in America, the moral decline would follow suit. This will lead more and more to a Socialistic State and the liberal Government would take the place of God for whom to follow. With the foundations of our Nation being challenged there is a remnant that continues to hope for America. We are not past the point of no return. If Joe Biden wins the upcoming Presidential election, that would make it much more difficult as the far Left is pushing for the kind of change that Brezhnev warned.

Starting at the grass-roots, the local level, we need to start a movement that will bring back the richness our Country has inherited. God's grace does matter. The greatest response to the terrorism brought forth by Black Lives Matter and Antifa is prayer, devotion, and some backbone.

Instead of defunding the police and pledging to send psychologists to respond to emergency calls, we need to support our police who the vast majority are servants of the people. We have the best firefighters and responders who are well trained. We need to left them up in prayer.

President Trump is starting a great curriculum that teaches our young people to learn about our country's history. So many have never been taught our history. We have seen the disrespect of our military, our Flag and Anthem so we want to share why our freedoms must be fought for to maintain those freedoms.

I gave the following information in a speech to this crowd in front of the Marshall Police Station:

The United States Army was founded on June 14, 1775 which bears much in what the United States flag would represent the blood, sweat, and treasure Americans fought serving our Country against all enemies.

At the ceremony of retreat, a daily observance at bases during which all personnel pay respect to the flag, “the flag is lowered, folded in a triangle fold and kept under watch throughout the night as a tribute to our nation’s honored dead.

The next morning, it is brought out and, at the ceremony of reveille, run aloft as a symbol of our belief in the resurrection of the body.”

  1. The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life.

  2. The second fold signifies our belief in eternal life.

  3. The third fold is made in honor and tribute of the veteran departing our ranks, and who gave a portion of his or her life for the defense of our country to attain peace.

  4. The fourth fold exemplifies our weaker nature as citizens trusting in God; it is to Him we turn for His divine guidance.

  5. The fifth fold is an acknowledgment to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, “Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right, but it is still our country, right or wrong.”

  6. The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

  7. The seventh fold is a tribute to our armed forces, for it is through the armed forces that we protect our country and our flag against all enemies.

  8. The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor our mother, for whom it flies on Mother’s Day.

  9. The ninth fold is an honor to womanhood, for it has been through their faith, love, loyalty, and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great have been molded.

  10. The 10th fold is a tribute to father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since he or she was first-born.

  11. The 11th fold, in the eyes of Hebrew citizens, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

  12. The 12th fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost.

  13. The last fold, when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost, reminding us of our national motto, “In God We Trust.”

Psalms 20:5, "May we shout for joy over your victory, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfill all your petitions!" Psalms 60.4, "Thou hast set up a banner for those who fear thee, to rally to it from the bow."
