The Catholic Defender: "Battle For A Generation"
On August 24, 2017 on our Deepertruth Internet Radio Show, "Be Strong, Be Courageous, Be A Man" Series with Catholic Convert Mark Kiser who entitled his talk, "Battle for a Generation" really brought clear evidence to an important battle being waged.
In the beginning of his monologue, I was thinking how St. Pope John Paul II and St. Mother Teresa worked to save a generation. I also thought how Christian Rock groups like Petra and Stryper were doing some of the same thing. Trying to reach out to help those lost.
Mark Kiser took the battle to a whole different place than I had thought, he identified Contraception as one of the greatest battles waging against faith in the world.
As I listened to Mark giving out statistics, it quickly became clear how America and Christian Europe is being threatened from within. Like Dr. Gregory Thompson, I couldn't help thinking about our children and our children's children.
Consider the following points Mark Kiser gave during his monologue?
Children are a blessing from God. Psalms 127:3-5 states, "Lo, sons are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."
Think about that for a minute! For a nation to be able to defend itself, there has to come those who would ultimately take our place. Children are our future.
Mark argued giving statistics showing that in order for America to achieve 0 population growth, there would have to be 2.1 children born to each family. This is to compensate for the loss of each society because of death. In the United States, we have been at the 1.9 births for many years, and recently 1.6. This is very dangerous.
I was thinking of the movie "Rocky III" when Clubber Lane "Mr. T" challenged Rocky "Sylvester Stallone" for the Boxing heavy weight title. Compare how each fighter trained for their fight and you get the picture. Rocky lost because he was ill prepared and Clubber Lane trained himself hard.
Let's look at Europe, Mark shared that Europe was averaging well below 1.6 births per family France was 1.8, England was 1.6, Germany was 1.6, but other European Countries were as low as 1.1 birth per family.
Compare this with the Trojan Horse taking place right before our very eyes.
Islam is at an 8.1 births per family, by 2040, at this rate Christian Europe is lost. Even now Mosques our outnumbering churches in much of the land. America is the next major goal of the Islamic conquest threat.
Notice I have not even brought up the question of sin involved with Contraception. I've simply been looking at the risk our Nation is facing right now.
The Catholic Church for 2,000 years has taught Artificial Birth Control was Mortal Sin. In 1968, His Holiness, Pope Paul VI responded to the threat of Contraception in his encyclical Humanea Vitea with four major concerns:
1. General lowering of moral standards 2. A rise in infidelity, and illegitimacy 3. The reduction of women to objects used to satisfy men. 4. Government coercion in reproductive matters.
Sin has it's consequences. It's a serious security issue as Christian West is being degraded and torn from within. Many children are not taught faith, true religion, even family. There is much confusion as more people want to ride the cart as opposed to helping pull it.
Think of this statistic; nearly 55,000 young people per day in America are being diagnosed with a Sexually Transmitted Disease. Just like Rocky was not prepared to fight Clubber Lane in their first fight, many of our youth are not prepared to start a family. Few men really know how to treat a lady, they are not being taught. Women are not wanting to be ladies.
Many certainly do not know about practicing the faith, they reject it. They have also lost the ideals of patriotism, to love our Country and defend it.
Right now we are dealing with many addictions that are taking our eyes off the ball, turning away from the Lord God filling the voids with every conceivable wickedness. It is a right they say? Revelation 18:21-24 warns:
"Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "So shall Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and shall be found no more; and the sound of harpers and minstrels, of flute players and trumpeters, shall be heard in thee no more; and a craftsman of any craft shall be found in thee no more; and the sound of the millstone shall be heard in thee no more; and the light of a lamp shall shine in thee no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard in thee no more; for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and all nations were deceived by thy sorcery."
Notice that all the nations were deceived by sorcery? Some text also include the word "pharmakeía", the Greek word for pharmacy implying drugs. Sorcery, drugs?
Remember 1 Samuel 15:23, "For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king." Think of our many politicians today who have abandoned America for their personal agendas?
At the time of King Saul, Israel was at war against the Philistines who threatened the people of God. The people sinned against their God and today, I'm afraid it is much worse because of the rise of evil.
Mark Kiser's "Battle for a Generation" is very important to pray about but to also to do something about. Ephesians 5:11 states, "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." We have been compromising ourselves and it is showing. We have embolden the enemy because of our weakness.
This is a major mission of the Catholic Faith. St. Jude tells us to "contend" for the Faith! The Church is the Bark of Peter, it is the Ark carrying the people to safety through rough seas.
The Shepherds must be strong leading people out of the darkness and into the Light. Contraception is a great evil yet it is accepted and common place.
Since 1973 nearly 60,000,000 children have been sacrificed that would have been arrows for our national defense. I would call them tax payers, contraception and abortion are closely related. When one fails the other finishes the killing.
2 Chronicles 7:14 states, "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Return back to the Sacraments and stand up for the Lord our God putting away sin and vice.
