The Guardian Angel: Eucharistic Miracle, Canosio, Italy 1630
When we see someone not going to receive the Eucharist during Mass, it should give us great sadness for that person, because the Blessed Sacrament during the Mass is the most powerful gift given by our Lord, HIMSELF.
The more you Know God the more you will Love God and the more you want to Serve God. How can we Serve God, know and be active in the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy to bring souls to HIM.
The corporal works of mercy is as follows:
To feed the hungry;
To give drink to the thirsty;
To clothe the naked;
To harbor the harborless;
To visit the sick;
To ransom the captive;To bury the dead.
The spiritual works of mercy are:
To instruct the ignorant;
To counsel the doubtful;
To admonish sinners;
To bear wrongs patiently;
To forgive offences willingly;
To comfort the afflicted;
To pray for the living and the dead.
Know your Faith so that you can defend it, because Satan from the beginning has attacked the Bride of Christ, and most people do not know how to defend their faith.
Practice you faith and open yourself to let God use you and HE will.
My friend Donald Hartley, has a blog. that covers about every historical aspect of the faith, how each faith outside of the Catholic Church is false and why, many details, and also how the Catholic Church put together the Bible and has the Deposit of Faith as given by the Holy Spirit.
Don manages a blog with many writings explaining the faith and also Blog talk radio.
The Eucharistic Miracles I put together (all approved by the Vatican) for you to strengthen yourself and those put into your path, and then Don co-hosts the program with me with a strong eye on connections to Scripture.
Go to http://www.deepertruthcatholics.com/ for many days of joy and reading to strengthen your faith. Also, Don will be willing to answer questions you may have. We call him the Catholic Defender and it has been estimated that he has brought as many as a thousand souls into the Catholic Church. To Jesus through Mary, GregoryMary
"They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again" Ignatius of Antioch,Epistle to Smyrnaeans,7,1(c.A.D. 110),in ANF,I:89
"For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour,having been made flesh and blood for our salvation,so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word,and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished,is the flesh and blood of that Jesus who was made flesh." Justin Martyr,First Apology,66(A.D. 110-165),in ANF,I:185

"He acknowledged the cup (which is a part of the creation) as his own blood,from which he bedews our blood; and the bread (also a part of creation) he affirmed to be his own body,from which he gives increase to our bodies." Irenaeus,Against Heresies,V:2,2(c.A.D. 200),in NE,119
Eucharistic Miracle, Canosio, Italy 1630
This particular Eucharistic miracle features a pastor, Father Antonio Reinardi, whose deep faith in the Eucharist was responsible for saving the village of Canosio from the torrential floods of the Maira River with a blessing of the Blessed Sacrament.
There were many conversions among those who witnessed the miracle and to this day the townspeople of Canosio celebrate a feast during the Octave of Corpus Christi to commemorate the miracle.
Canosio is a small village in the region of Val Maira, in the Diocese of Saluzzo. In 1630, its townspeople had grown cold in their religious observance due to the spread of the Calvinistic heresy.
A day after the feast of Corpus Christi, the river at Maira flooded because of a torrential rainfall. The flood waters were so violent and powerful that some massive stones were dislodged from the mountain and threatened to destroy the valley and the village itself!
Father Antonio Reinardi , the pastor of the town, assembled the townspeople with the ringing of the church bells and exhorted them to pray that the Lord would stop the flood. He vowed that if the village of Canosio were spared from the flood’s destruction, the townspeople would celebrate in perpetuity an annual feast of Corpus Christi.
Father Reinardi then placed the Sacrament in the monstrance. He processed towards the raging flood with some of the faithful as they all recited the "Miserere" Psalm 51. After he blessed the raging waters, the rain stopped at once and the flood waters peaked and returned to their normal level. This incident revived the faith of the townspeople of Canosio and to this day they observe the vow that was made.
Unfortunately, many of the documents which attest to the miracle and which were preserved in the parish archives from the 17th century were burned during the war between France and Spain. What is extant, however, is a copy describing the events and which was left by the pastor who was a witness to what occurred.
Here at Deepertruth, we are honored to be able to share these stories of God's presence among us as Jesus promised "lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."
