The Catholic Defender: Daniel 11:32, Take Strong Action!

Today, the rage against Faith and family in America seems to be an after thought as societal norms have been consistently changed through our higher places of learning, our politics, our media and the arts for decades. Once held traditions thought to be sacred have been crumbling as the progressive seeks to transform society.

Consider Daniel 11:32 which reads, "By his deceit he shall make some who were disloyal forsake the covenant; but those who remain loyal to their God shall take strong action." In the time of Daniel there were powerful forces seeking to undermine the Old Testament Covenants as history records the back and forth happenings among the people.

When the Israelite were in God's good graces, they were unbeatable by foreign kings and nations surrounding them. But when the people rebelled against the covenants, the people were taken over by foreign powers who enslaved them until the people repented.

2 Chronicles 7:14 states, "if then my people, upon whom my name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and heal their land."

As it was in the time of Daniel, today, the Church finds itself combating the ancient Paganism that the Light had once vanquished the darkness. Today there is much rage coming against the New and Everlasting Covenant founded by Christ. The enemies of the Catholic Faith will certainly favor those who have already forsaken the Gospel.

By their deceit, they press those disloyal to the Covenant, "but those who remain loyal to God shall take strong action." Two things the faithful are called to do in these times of crisis, the first thing is prayer. we are to humbly pray before God seeking him and turning from sin. The Virgin Mary at Fatima called for the Rosary to pray for the conversion of Russia and sinners. St. Padre Pio called the Rosary, "the Weapon"!

Hearts can be changed as a result of prayer, but that is not all, the faithful who are loyal to Christ will take strong action against this current rebellion. In the United States, because of our Christian foundation and our Constitution, we have the power to vote. We can vote and support candidates that support our beliefs. This is a major battle as progressive politicians seek to go after those disloyal to Christ and His Church. Sadly, many disloyalist will support Abortion, Gay marriage, and rebellion.

It is very important that people are informed of the issues. Ephesians 5:11 teaches us not to have any fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose it. That is very important, we are to take a stand for what is right. We are to take strong actions that reflect the Gospel message.

As Catholics, sometimes it may feel that we are being placed among the lions like the Prophet Daniel was, and we might feel the sense of despair as darkness looms all around us, but we are to take heart. Remember the works of Mercy, Jesus promised if we clothe the naked, feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, heal the sick, visit the prisoner, these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

Let not your heart be troubled by what is happening, God is in control.
