The Catholic Defender: October 13, 1917 Miracle of the Sun has precedence.
On October 13, 1917, one of the greatest interventions of God took place that embodies God's signs of promise, protection, and warning. At the time in Portugal, storm clouds of rebellion were covering the land. The world was in chaos.
The spread of Socialism, Marxism, and Communism was threatening freedom everywhere. Heaven intervened as the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three Shepherd Children, Jacinta, Francisco, and Lucia. I am mindful of the prophecy of Joel that St. Luke quotes:
"And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; yea, and on my menservants and my maidservants in those days I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and manifest day. And it shall be that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.''
The affect of this happening thwarted much of the advance of this horror of straight-up humanism. The promotion of the Rosary to the faithful praying for the conversion of Russia, sinners, and peace and the spreading of the Immaculate Heart of Mary became a rallying cry for those who found refuge in the Lord.
Consider Joshua 10:12-13, "Then spoke Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD gave the Amorites over to the men of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel, "Sun, stand thou still at Gibeon, and thou Moon in the valley of Aijalon." And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.14 There has been no day like it before or since, when the LORD hearkened to the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel."
The sun stood still causing the enemies of Israel to run and hide (cave at Makkedah) ensuring victory for the Israelite. God was fighting for His people and what a great sign this was. The Miracle of the sun happening at Fatima has this element showing God's compassion on His people, His Church.
The attack on the family is a serious threat to America and Mankind as the ideology of Radical Islamic Terror, the new threat on the scene, has spearheaded a great Trojan Horse within the Christian world. Europe has been radically changed because of this evil spreading all over to include the United States. It is a serious threat happening as a result of liberalism weakening the West.
The Sexual Revolution of the 1960's, the advent of Artificial Birth Control, Abortion, Homosexuality are signs that the enemies of God are not yielding as their battle cry of rebellion is seen everyday in America. Nearly 55,000 per day are being diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease. There is a battle going on. It is like many are throwing God's protection out the window opening them up to every evil.
Isaiah 38:5-8 states of another great sign from heaven, "Go and say to Hezekiah, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and defend this city. "This is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he has promised: Behold, I will make the shadow cast by the declining sun on the dial of Ahaz turn back ten steps." So the sun turned back on the dial the ten steps by which it had declined."
This miracle was seen as far away as Babylon who sent emissaries to ask about this great sign: "And so in the matter of the envoys of the princes of Babylon, who had been sent to him to inquire about the sign that had been done in the land, God left him to himself, in order to try him and to know all that was in his heart. Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his good deeds, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel." 2 Chronicles 32:31-32
Consider this promise made to King Hezekiah! This great sign made to the king is a shadowing of the great promise that Jesus gives His Church establishing the new and everlasting Covenant so that the Lord who caused the sun to go backwards ten steps comes to us as we step towards the King of kings to receive Him in Holy Communion. Fatima is a great reminder of this as the Angel of Portugal shared with the Children of Fatima:
“The Angel prostrated himself beside us and said the following prayer three times:
'Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly and offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the earth, in reparation for the insults, sacrileges, and indifference with which He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg Thee for the conversion of poor sinners.'
After this, rising up, he again took the chalice and the Host in his hand; he gave the Host to me and the contents of the chalice to Jacinta and Francisco to drink, saying: 'Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, who is horribly insulted by ungrateful men. Make reparation for their crimes and console your God.'
The promise of the Lord is rooted for His great love for us:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
The Bible talks about great warning using signs of the sky, Luke 21:11, "Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven."
These warnings are a call for us to ready ourselves for the coming judgment. We know that the mystery of lawlessness is already at work but the presence of God thwarts their full control.
2017 marked the 100th anniversary of Our Lady's appearances at Fatima. The Miracle of the Sun gives us warning and at the same time healing. As the Sun seemed to come upon the earth melting the very flood water and rain to total dryness. Many healing took place there, many conversions.
The threat taking place in the Unites States today with the corruptions taking place throughout the land, we can not trust that legitimate votes count, America is in a Constitutional crisis. What enslaved people around the world is now threatening America.

The Fatima Peace Plan from Heaven reminds us of the Lord's great protection, promise, and warning. Take up the Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, prayer, especially the Mass daily in your hearts, physically or even spiritually. If you can't make daily Mass, offer your day for the Mass where Jesus is offering Himself for you.
